France’s budget deficit increases

PARIS, Oct. 6, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – France’s budget gap was estimated to be
97.3 billion euros (about 111.8 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of August,
up from 93 billion euros (106.9 billion dollars) recorded a year earlier,
official data released Friday showed.

France, Europe’s second largest economy, saw its total revenue down by 1.9
percent to 197.7 billion euros (227.2 billion dollars) over the same period.

For the entire year of 2018, the French government expects the budget gap
to be no more than 2.6 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), compared
to 2.7 percent a year ago.
