3-day development fair begins in Faridpur
FARIDPUR, Oct 4, 2018 (BSS) – A three day ‘4th Development Fair’ began on
Rajendra College premises here aimed at highlighting the successes of the
present government in socioeconomic development of the country.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-day fair across the
country around 10am today through a videoconference from her official
residence, Ganobhabon in the capital.
Different programmes, including discussion, cultural function, essay
competition, drawing, quiz and magic show have been arranged on the occasion.
After the inaugural function, a discussion meeting was held which was
presided over by Deputy Commissioner Ommey Salma Tanzia.
Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Anisur Rahman was the chief
guest while Zila parishad chairman Lokman Hossain Mridah attended the
function as special guest.
Deputy secretary Momena Minu, Superintendent of Police Jakir Hossain, AL
district president advocate Subol Chandra Saha, among others, spoke on the
occasion.
Earlier, a colorful rally led by Md Anisur Rahaman, secretary of the
Ministry of Religion Affairs and DC Ommey Salma Tanzia paraded the main
streets of the town.
A total of 120 stalls of different government, non government organizations
have been set up at the fair.
