4th national development fair inaugurated in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 4, 2018 (BSS)- The 4th national Development Fair was
inaugurated in Chattogram, aiming to showcase the development activities of
the present government.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-day Fair across the
country through videoconference from her official residence, Ganobhabon.

The three-day Unnayan Mela (Development Fair) began in the port city and in
all the upazila headquarters across district with the slogan ‘Indomitable
Bangladesh in March towards Development’.

Secretary to the Ministry of Energy Dr Ahamed Kaikaus inaugurated the fair
in Chattogram by releasing balloons at the fair venue, in front of Gymnasium
hall of M A Aziz Stadium.

Earlier, the district administration brought out a rally from Chatogram
circuit house at 9 am today. The rally concluded at Gymnasium hall premises
of M A Aziz Stadium after parading different important city streets.

Mohammad Ilias Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram presided over
the function while Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Abdul
Mannan, Deputy Inspector General of Police Chattogram range Khandoker Golam
Faruk, Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Mahabubur Rahman and
superintendent of Chattogram district police Nur-E- Alam Mina, among others,
high officials of district administration, local elites addressed the
function as guests.

The government has been arranging Unnyan Mela for the last four years to
showcase the successes of the government in socioeconomic progress of the
country and let the people particularly youth folks know and find out income
generating occupations for themselves after completing education.

This year’s fair will also showcase Bangabandhu Satellite and different
mega projects of the government in various sectors.

Over 170 government, semi government and private organizations have set up
stalls at the fair venue showcasing the development activities of the present
government.

The fair will remain open for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm each day.
