Hong Kong stocks down at open
HONG KONG, Oct 4, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Hong Kong stocks retreated in the first
few minutes of trade Thursday as a surge in US Treasury yields fanned
expectations of further rises in Federal Reserve interest rates.
The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.23 percent, or 61.86 points, to 27,029.40.
Mainland Chinese markets remained closed for a public holiday.
