National Productivity Day observed in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Oct 2, 2018 (BSS) – The National Productivity Day-2018 was
observed in the district as elsewhere in the country today aimed at creating
mass awareness to raise production in all fields including industrial,
agriculture and service sectors.
This year’s theme of the day is “Productivity Development for Happy and
Prosperous Country”.
Marking the day, the district administration and Gaibandha Chamber of
Commerce and Industry chalked out the programmes.
In the morning, a grand rally was brought out from Independence Square and
paraded the main roads of the town.
Later, a discussion meeting was also held at the conference room of GCCI
of the town here with its president Shajada Anwarul Quadir in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Gautam Chandra Pal addressed the function as the chief
guest and additional DC (Revenue) ABM Sadiqur Rahman was present at the event
as the special guest.
Director of GCCI Nawsher Alam and industrialist Protap Ghos addressed the
function, among others.
The speakers underscored the need for increasing productivity, economic
stability and ensuring sustainable development and growth to take the country
ahead.
Productivity improvement has been considered as the most important factor
for the national economy and it accelerates the development on overall
economy of the country, they also said.
DC Gautam Chandra Pal said productivity plays an important role to
increase production, savings, investment and employment opportunities to the
people of the country.
