Lions’ services to suffering humanity lauded
RANGPUR, Oct 2, 2018 (BSS) – Lions Club Rangpur (LCR), District 351A2,
has set up a glaring example of rendering nobler services to the suffering
humanity and standing beside them to mitigate their miseries when and where
necessary.
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa said this while launching the
October Service Week-2018 of LCR by releasing balloons and pigeon at a
function held on Rangpur Lions School and College ground here on Monday as
the chief guest.
The LCR, District 351A2, has been observing the October Service Week-2018
with elaborate programmes to serve the suffering humanity and distressed
people in the district.
Later, a huge colourful rally, led by the City Mayor and participated by
hundreds of people, including officials, students and teachers, members of
LCR, professionals, socio-cultural and human rights activists and elite,
paraded the city streets.
With President of LCR, District 351A2, Lion Al Helal in the chair, its
general Secretary Lion Baniul Adam Babu, Chairman of the Week Observance
Committee Lion Hassan Mahbub Akhter Lotan, Lion Advocate Abdur Rashid
Chowdhury, Lion Emdadul Islam, Lion Sanchit Kumar Sarker, Lion Enamul Haque
Sohel, Lion Zebun Nesa Jebin, Lion Nasrine Haque Boby, Lion Farzana Hasan
Bithi, among others, addressed the discussion.
Talking to BSS today, Lion Enamul Haque Sohel said the LCR, District
351A2, with assistance of the Lions International would provide various
services to the poor, distressed and physically challenged people at
different places in the district.
The services include distribution of saplings, free health camps, blood
donation, blood grouping and diabetic tests, distribution of sports goods,
educational inputs and improved foods among disabled and autistics children
and many other services.
