ACC to conduct inquiry against Ananta Kumar Sinha

DHAKA, Oct 1, 2018 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has formed
a two-member team to conduct an inquiry into allegations of siphoning off
money and amassing illegal wealth by Ananta Kumar Sinha.

ACC spokesmen Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told BSS that the national anti-
graft agency formed the team today to conduct the inquiry into the
allegations.

ACC assistant director Gulshan Anwar and its deputy assistant director
Silvia Ferdous have already asked to launch the inquiry in this regard, he
said.

Earlier, the Commission received allegations that Ananta Kumar Sinha
siphoned off money abroad and brought a house at cost of US$ 2.8 lakh in the
state of New Jersey, the USA, and accumulated wealth through illegal means.

Ananta Kumar Sinha is the younger brother of former chief justice
Surendra Kumar Sinha, who is now living in the USA.
