‘The 4th Development Fair’ to begin across the country on Oct 4

DHAKA, Oct 1, 2018 (BSS)-‘The 4th Development Fair’ will begin across the country on October 4 aiming at highlighting the development activities of the government.

The main aim of the fair is to portray the government’s development activities and achievements made so far in its journey towards making Bangladesh a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the three-day fair through a video conference from her official residence, Ganabhaban, in Dhaka on Thursday morning, said a handout.

In the capital the fair will be held at the International Trade Fair ground in Agargaon. The Ministry of Information will set up 11 stalls at the fair venue to highlight contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the development of the country and mass media, Liberation War. The achievements and successes the information ministry has made during the present government will also be portrayed there.

Special focus will be made on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 10 special development programmes, international recognitions and successes, Vision-2021 and 2041, ICT development, Bangabandhu Satellite, Padma Bridge and Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. Country’s investment potential will also be highlighted.

Similar fairs will also be held at Bangladesh missions abroad so that Bangladesh nationals, now living abroad, can also know about the government’s development efforts and its achievements.

The Department of Mass Communication (DMC) will display the government achievements and development activities through its offices in 64 districts. The 12 regional office of Bangladesh Betar and other departments-offices of the information ministry will highlight their development activities. The offices which have publications will sell or distribute those free of cost.

Reality show, essay and paining competition will be organized at the fair venues for students.
