Election to be held as per constitution: Hanif
KUSHTIA, Sept 29, 2018 (BSS) -Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif today said the next general election will be held as per the constitution.
“The upcoming parliamentary polls will be held in accordance with the constitution…There is no scope of violating the constitution,” he told a mothers’ rally at Kushtia Zila School here.
Hanif said the registration of any political party will be cancelled, if it does not participate in the polls for two consecutive terms.
The chief election commissioner (CEC) has reminded the political parties about this, mentioning relevant laws, he said, adding that the CEC did not intimidate anyone, rather he has given a positive signal to some political parties which are not respectful to the law.
President of Kushtia District Unit of Awami League(AL) Sadar Uddin Khan, General secretary Ajgar Ali, officials of local administration and teachers, among others, were present at the rally.
