Bangladesh take on Pakistan in SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship tomorrow

DHAKA, Sept. 29, 2018 (BSS)- The Bangladesh U-18 women’s national football team take on their Pakistan counterpart in their first group B match of the 1s SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship scheduled to be held tomorrow at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan.

The match kicks off at 7 pm (BST), following their day’s another group A encounter between host Bhutan and the Maldives at 4 pm. Ahead of the first match, team’s skipper Mossammat Mishrat Jahan Moushumi and co. are found confident to put up a good show in their first match, according to a message received here from Bangladesh Football Federation Bhaban.

Head coach Golam Rabbani Choton and national technical and strategic director Paul Thomas Smalley have also expressed their full confidence on their players to secure a good result in the opening game against Pakistan.

All the players of the team are physically fit and prepared to give it their best in the SAFF Championship. It will be a must win game for Pakistan to stay the championship race following their 12-0 goals defeat to Nepal in their group opening match.

Meanwhile, India blanked hosts Bhutan 4-0 in the Group A opener whereas Maldives will face Bhutan in the second match. Bangladesh team had a staff review meeting of both the opening matches on Friday night. The team members will take part in a team meeting including video analysis and presentation today before their final practice session ahead of the Pakistan game.

Bangladesh will play their Group second match against Nepal on October 2.

After the group phase matches, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals to be held on October 5 while the final is slated on October 7.
