6 held with fake currency from Turag
DHAKA, Sept 29, 2018 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) on Friday arrested
six persons along with fake local currency worth about Taka 51 lakh from
Turag, on the outskirts of the capital.
“We unearthed a fake currency producing factory in a drive at Baunia,
Badaldi road at Turag on Friday afternoon. Six people with fake currency of
Taka 51 lakh and machine of producing those were arrested from the factory,”
said a DB official.
DB personnel recovered one laptop, two colour printers, skin board, foil
papers, different other papers, and Taka 29,800 lakh from the spot, he also
said.
The arrestees are: Md Abul Hossain alias Imon,35, Shaikh Sumon,32, Md
Sagir Hossain alias Shaheen,42, Md Iqbal Hossain,32, Swapna,19, and Toukir
Ahmed alias Sujan.
The detained Imon is the owner of the fake currency making factory, he
said, adding that they have a plan to produce fake currency of Taka 7 crore
with the seized items.
During primary interrogation Imon confessed that he had started the
trade of fake currency since 2013. Police claimed that Imon was wanted in
number of cases regarding fake currency trade.
Legal action was taken against the arrestees.
