BNP-Jamaat’s violence to be resisted with iron hand: Shajahan
MADARIPUR, Sept 28, 2018 (BSS) – Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan today said all sorts of conspiracies centering Saturday’s rally of BNP will be resisted with an iron hand.
“Jamaat-e-Islam is indirectly involved with the Jatiya Oikkya Prokriya (national unity process). The government fears that violence will take place in the rally of BNP. All sorts of violence would be resisted with an iron hand,” he told the reporters after inaugurating the new building of AL Rajoir upazila unit office in the district.
Shajahan said BNP has previous records of creating violence in their rallies. Even, they (BNP) tried to create pressure on the government through blasting bombs at their own public rallies. But they had failed, he added.
“The people of the country have resisted militancy. This time too, they (people) will resist any type of conspiracy of BNP and Jamaat,” the minister said.
Madaripur Police Super Subrata Kumar Halder, AL district unit President Shabuddin Molla, Rajoir upazila Chairman Shahjahan Khan and Municipality Mayor Shamim Newaz Munsi, among others, were present in the inaugural function.
