Citizens’ awareness to enhance savings practice stressed
RANGPUR, Sept 28, 2018 (BSS) – Director General of the Directorate of
National Savings Shamsunnahar Begum has directed field level officials to
engage their sincere efforts in creating awareness among citizens to enhance
savings practice.
She made the direction at the concluding function of a training workshop
arranged by the divisional office of the Department of National Savings at
conference room of Rangpur Branch of Bangladesh Bank here yesterday afternoon
as the chief guest.
The chief guest termed savings as the real friend in need and directed
field level savings officials to inspire common citizens in building savings
habit to strengthen the national economy for accelerating development
reducing dependence on foreign assistance.
Filed level officials involved with conducting savings related activities
at all commercial banks, post offices and Bureau of National Savings of the
northern zone under Rangpur region of Bangladesh Bank participated in the
event.

Moharam Ali presided over the day-long training workshop.
Executive Director of Rangpur Branch of Bangladesh Bank Zoarder Ismail
Hossain, its General Manager Shahin Ul Islam, Director of Bangladesh Postal
Department Md Farid Ahmed and Director of the Department of National Savings
Mohammad Habibur Rahman addressed the as special guests.
Assistant Director at Rangpur District Savings Office Mominul Islam
delivered welcome speech in the workshop moderated by Assistant Director of
its Lalmonirhat Office Abu Taleb.
Taking part in discussion, the speakers laid maximum importance on
conducting social campaign by field level savings officials to create
awareness among citizens to enhance their savings practice in building a
self-reliant Bangladesh.
