Couple held with arms, drugs in Domar
RANGPUR, Sept 27, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested
a couple with illegal arms, ammunition and drugs from Chhoto Rawta village
under Domar upazila of Nilphamari district in the early hours of today.
“A special team of the crime prevention company-2 of RAB-13 from its
Nilphamari camp raided the village and arrested the couple red-handed with a
one shooter gun, a live bullet, five bottles of phensidyl and one bottle of
black deluxe whisky,” said a press release.
“The arrested persons are Mizanur Rahman, 45, locally known as drug
emperor and his wife Rupa Begum, 35, locally known as drug empress, hailing
from the same village,” the release said.
During primary interrogation, the arrested couple admitted that they
were involved in illegal arms and drug trade for a long time in the area.
Thirteen criminal cases remain pending against Mizanur Rahman and 15
cases against Rupa Begum with different police stations of Nilphamari and
adjoining areas.
The elite force handed over the arrested persons to Domar Thana police
after filing two separate cases against them later today, the release added.
