DHAKA, Sept 26, 2018 (BSS) – A proposal on merit-based recruitment of 1st and 2nd class employees in public services removing the quota system recommended by the secretary committee would be placed before the next cabinet meeting.
After the decision of the cabinet division, the Public Administration Ministry will issue gazette notification to this end.
Joint Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Abul Quashem Mohammad Mohiuddin, a spokesperson of Quota Review Committee, told journalists at the secretariat today.
“We have received the committee’s recommendation on quota from the Prime Minister Office (PMO) and it has already been sent to the cabinet division,” he said and hoed that it would be placed in the next cabinet meeting for approval.
On September 17, the Quota Review Committee, headed by Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, submitted their recommendation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The committee recommended for quota free recruitment of first and second class employees in public services.
