Four to die for killing college student in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Sept 26, 2018 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced four persons
to death for killing a college student in 2016.
District and Sessions Judge Atiqul Islam Talukder pronounced the verdict
this morning. The court, however, acquitted six others from the charges.
The convicts are Ali Ahmed Shaon, Shahadat Hossain, Saju Ahmed and
Nazmul Hossain. Of them, Saju and Shaon were tried in absentia.
According to the prosecution, Goutam Sarker, son of Ganesh Chandra
Sarker, a union parishad member of village Mahadebnagar under sadar upazila
of Satkhira was killed by the convicts over previous enmity on December 13,
2016.
The victim’s father filed a case with Satkhira Sadar Police Station on
December, 15, 2016.
