Four eateries fined Tk 3 lakh in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Sept 26, 2018 (BSS) – A mobile court initiated by Rapid Action
Battalion (RAB-13) in anti-adulteration drives fined four eateries Taka three
lakh at different areas of the city on Tuesday.
“Executive Magistrate Md Abul Hayat of Rangpur district administration led
the mobile court,” said a RAB-13 press release issued today by its Media
Officer ASP Khondker Golam Mortuza.
The mobile court was conducted with a view to ensure supply of pure,
hygienic and formalin free foodstuffs for greater interests of saving public
health.
The mobile court fined the owners of four eateries for violating the Food
Safety Act-2013 and Consumers’ Right Preservation Act-2009 by production,
marketing and preserving foodstuffs in unhygienic and dirty environment.
During the drives, the mobile court fined owner of ‘Ma-Moni Hotel and
Restaurant Polash Kumar Singha and owner of Suprema Restaurant Tanzarul Islam
Taka one lakh each and owner of Kosturi Restaurant Aiyub Ali and owner of
Sayeed Bakery Apel Mahmud Taka 50,000 each at different areas of the city.
Similar anti-adulteration drives would continue in future to save public
health from hazards of food adulteration, the release added.
