Speaker emphasized media’s role ensuring liability of people’s
representatives
DHAKA, Sept 25, 2018 (BSS)- Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury today emphasized the role of media to ensure accountability of
people’s representatives.
“In the era of free flow of information, people get information within the
shortest possible of time, especially online news portals played a vital role
in this regard and media can also play a pivotal role ensuring accountability
of people’s representatives,” she said.
The speaker said this while speaking as the chief guest at a programme of
first anniversary of an online news portal “Parliament Newsbd.com” at media
center of the National parliament in the city, said a press release.
Editor of the news portal Shakila Parvin presided over the function.
State minister for Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra
Chanda, Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Shahiduzzaman Sarker, MA Awal, MP, and
Mehzabin Morshed also spoke, among others.
“Parliament Newsbd.com is one of the specialized news portals of our
country which fulfill the reader’s expectations since its establishment…
people can know about the activities of the Parliament members through its
news presentation,” Dr Chaudhury said
The portal may achieve more popularity by presenting news on procedures of
the Parliament, law enactment, parliamentary practices and ruling of the
speaker and so on, she added.
