ARREST-SATKHIRA
56 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Sept 24, 2018 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 56
persons including two activists of Jamaat-E-Islami from eight upazilas of the
district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Police also recovered 72 pieces of Yaba tablets during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar Thana police arrested 15 persons and
recovered 51 pieces of Yaba tablets in an abandoned condition, Kalaroa Thana
police arrested eight persons and recovered 21 pieces of Yaba tablets in an
abandoned condition, Tala Thana police arrested five persons, Kaliganj Thana
police arrested five persons, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested 10 persons
including an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami, Assasuni Thana police arrested
seven persons, Patkelghata Thana police arrested three persons including an
activist of Jamaat-E-Islami and Debhata Thana police arrested three persons.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
