Police to deal strictly with anarchy marking Aug 21 case verdict: Monirul

DHAKA, Sept 22, 2018 (BSS) – Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime
(CTTC) unit chief Monirul Islam today said police will strictly deal with any
attempt to make anarchy in the country marking the much awaited verdict in
two cases lodged over August 21 grenade attack.

“A Dhaka court is set to pronounce judgement in the cases on October 10
and if anyone tries to make chaos in the country marking the verdict, we will
deal with it strictly,” he said.

The CTTC boss came up with the observations while inaugurating art
competition of children of Crime Reporters’ Association of Bangladesh (CRAB)
members.

Monirul said there are no specific threats of terrorist attack during the
upcoming Durga Puja festival, however, all security steps would be taken to
make the festival safe and secure.

The CTTC chief also said there can be attempt of spreading rumors during
the upcoming general election, adding, “The cyber crime unit of police is
alert about this.”
