7 petrol bombs recovered in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Sept 22, 2018 (BSS) – Police recovered seven petrol bombs from
Pathakata crossing area under Tanore Upazila in the district last midnight,
police sources said.

On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid at the area around 2am
and recovered the bombs. However, none could be arrested in this connection.

Rejaul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tanore Police Station, told the
journalists that some Jamaat-BNP people were holding a secluded meeting of
planning subversive activities. But all of them fled away sensing police
presence there.

A case was recorded against 35 Jamaat-BNP men with the police station in
this connection.

Earlier on September 3 last, police arrested Jamaat leader Obaidur Rahman
with eight bombs from Baroghoria crossing area under the same upazila, the OC
added.

Meanwhile, one more grenade has been recovered from an under-construction
drain in Natore town today within a gap of three days. Workers of the
construction found the grenade first and informed police instantly.

Earlier on September 19 last, another grenade was recovered from the same
area, said Abul Hasnat, Assistant Superintendent of Police.
