ARREST-VEHICLE-LIFTERS
7 arrested with 10 stolen vehicles in capital
DHAKA, Sept 20, 2018 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police in separate
raids on Wednesday arrested seven members of an organized gang of lifters
along with 10 stolen vehicles from the city’s Mirpur, Demra and Shyampur.
“We in separate raids on Wednesday arrested seven criminals from
different parts of the capital and seized eight motorcycles, one CNG-run-
auto-rickshaw and one microbuses,” said a DB official.
The arrestees are: Md Lokman Hossain, 25, Md Niamul Sharif,25, Md Shaikh
Jamal,22, Md Abdur Rashid Mridha,20, Md Rabbi Sikder, 19, Md Shah Alam,52,
and Md Mahbub Shikder,47.
DB sources claimed that the arrestees have long been involved in lifting
vehicles from Dhaka and its adjoining areas and sold those with fake document
at lower price of the market rate.
Legal action was taken to this end.
