ACC conducts sudden drive at Shikkha Bhaban

DHAKA, Sept 18, 2018 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today
conducted a surprise drive at Shikhha Bhaban in the capital’s Abdul Gani Road
following receipt of allegation of taking bribe for transfer and posting.

“ACC is conducting the drives aimed at checking the existing corruption
and irregularities in the education sector,” said coordinator of the
enforcement team and also Director General (admin) Mohammad Munir Chowdhury.

A three-member ACC enforcement team today conducted the drive upon
receiving allegation of corruption over it hotline 106.

Director General (DG) Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education
informed the ACC team that they have yet to bring complete transparency over
transfer and posting due to corruption.

But, the DG said that he himself directly heard the allegation of the
victims (teachers) to solve the problem.

He also said to the ACC team that they have already transferred 25
teachers, who were involved in coaching trading, outside of the capital as
punishment.

The ACC team has requested the DG Directorate of Secondary and Higher
Education to strengthen monitoring to check corruption and irregularities to
this end.
