BHOLA, Sept 17, 2018 (BSS) – Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today said the proposals of ‘Jukta Front’ over forging national unity are not acceptable as all the proposals are contrary to the country’s Constitution.

“Any non-democratic proposal cannot be accepted at all,” he said, replying to questions from journalists at Circuit House here.

The incumbent government will remain in power during the next general election like other countries while the Election Commission will conduct the election as per its schedule, Tofail said, adding that there is no scope to go beyond the process.

None can be allowed to take the law on their own hands and kill innocent people in the name of movement, he said.

Tofail, also the Awami League advisory council member, welcomed the new alliance ‘Jukta Front’.

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Mamtaz Begum, MP, National University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Harun-Or-Rashid and Bhola District Parishad Chairman Abdul Mamin Tulu were, among others, present.

Later, the minister went round the Museum of Independence at Bangla Bazar here.
