Hanif castigates politics over Khaleda’s illness
KUSHTIA, Sept 16, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today castigated the attitude of doing politics over the illness of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, saying she (Khaleda) was given the maximum healthcare services as per the jail code.
“Begum Khaleda Zia is a convicted prisoner and she is being provided the maximum medical facilities as per the jail code. Afterwards, I condemn the dirty politics over BNP leader’s illness,” he said, replying to a question from journalists before distribution of keys of homes among the helpless people at Battoil bypass square here.
Replying to another question about five points and nine-target declaration of Jukta Front and Jatiya Oikya Prokria, Hanif said there are many political parties in Bangladesh which are far away from the people.
They (political parties) look for different opportunities when election nears, he said, adding, “The upcoming election will be held as per the constitution. There is no scope to go beyond the purview of the constitution”.
Later, he distributed keys of the newly-built homes among 50 people. As part of humanitarian assistance, the keys were handed over to those people with no livable homes of their own but land.
The distribution-ceremony under the second phase of Prime Minister’s Shelter Project, was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kushtia Md Aslam Hossain, Superintendent of Police SM Tanvir Arafat and Zila Parishad Chairman Rabiul Islam.
