Iran-India non-oil trade hits 2 bln USD in 5 months

TEHRAN, Sept. 16 (BSS/Xinhua) — Iran and India traded 4.71 million tons of
non-oil commodities worth 2.18 billion U.S. dollars during the first five
months of the current Iranian fiscal year from March 21 to Aug. 22, Eghtesad
online news website reported on Saturday.

The figures showed a 12.19-percent shrink in weight and 10.67-percent
decline in value compared with the same period last year, according to the
report.

India was Iran’s fifth major export destination in the five months, during
which Iran mainly exported urea, methanol and liquefied propane to India.

India was the fourth exporter of goods to Iran over the five months.
Iran’s imports mainly included rice, aluminum oxide and graphite electrodes
used in furnaces.
