10 gold bars gold seized at Ctg airport
CHATTOGRAM, Sept 16, 2018, (BSS) – Customs Intelligence and Investigation
officials seized 10 gold bars and 288 cartons of cigarettes at Shah Amanat
International Airport here this morning.
Acting on a tip-off, the custom officials detained Assaduzzaman and Kamal
Uddin who came from Muscat, Oman by a flight of Regent Airways
in possession of 10 gold bars weighing 1.16 kg around 10 am, said
Assistant Commissioner of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation
Directorate (CIID) Mahabubur Rahman.
The custom officials also seized 288 cartons of foreign cigarettes worth
over Tk 5.91 lakh from the luggage of two passengers of Biman flight at 12
noon, he added.
Legal measures have been taken in this regard.
