Debate crucial for flourishing students’ latent talents: Shahriar

RAJSHAHI, Sept 16, 2018 (BSS)-State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar
Alam, MP, has said debate competition is very much effective to flourish the
latent talents of students.

He put emphasis on arranging debate competitions more and more so that the
students can get the scopes of grooming them with modern knowledge.

The state minister was addressing the ‘First Radio Boral Inter-College
Debate and Speech Competition- 2018’ at Shahdowla Degree College playground
under Bagha upazila in the district on Saturday as chief guest.

Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shaheen Reza, the event was addressed,
among others, by local Awami League leaders Sujit Kumar Panday, Proshanta
Sarker, Ashraful Islam, Azizul Alam, Anjarul Islam and Babul Hossain.

Shahriar Alam said the present government under the dynamic leadership of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given top priority to education development.

He appealed to the people to cast vote for ‘Boat’, election symbol of
Awami League, in the upcoming election as the country enjoys a peaceful
environment during the regime of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Alam said there is a need of bringing back Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to
power again for the sake of retaining the country’s present development
rapidity.

He said the present government has been implementing various projects to
improve living condition of the people.

Besides, he urged the people to repose their confidence in the government
so that it can work for their welfare in the days ahead. Bangladesh would be
economically self-reliant if Awami League remains in power, he said.
