BD becomes role model of development- Anisul

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 15, 2018 (BSS)- Environment and Forest Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud today said massive development activity as carried out by the present government has led Bangladesh to be branded as a role model of development.

“We want to build Bangladesh as a developed, prosperous and peaceful country in South Asia, using sustainable development goals and latent talent of brilliant students” he said.

The minister was addressing as chief guest a seminar of Forestry and Environmental Science Institute at Chattogram University (CU).

Praising the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Jatiya Party Presidium Member said Bangladesh has now become a model for poverty-reduction under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina.

Anisul said the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working hard to turn Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041.

He said the present government has relentlessly been working to upgrade the standard of higher education and creating high-quality human resources.

The minister called upon the forestry researchers to work for raising awareness and playing roles to help face the risks of climate change.

Vice Chancellor of CU Dr Iftakher Uddin Chowdhury presided over the function while the key note paper was presented by Dr Mohammad Mosharrf Hossain.

Dean of Science Faculty Dr Mohammad Shofiul Alam, Forestry Institute Director Dr Mohammad Denesh Mia, senior professors from different universities, researchers, environmentalists, among others, attended the function.
