ARREST-SATKHIRA
52 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Sept 14, 2018 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 52
persons including two activists of Jamaat-E-Islami from eight upazilas of the
district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Police also recovered 52 pieces of Yaba tablets and 14 bottles of Phensidyl
during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 14 persons and recovered
14 bottles of Phensidyl in an abandoned condition, Kalaroa Thana police
arrested 13 persons and recovered 52 pieces of Yaba tablets in an abandoned
condition, Tala Thana police arrested three persons, Kaliganj Thana police
arrested six persons, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested six persons including
two activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, Assasuni Thana police arrested seven
persons, Patkelghata Thana police arrested two persons and Debhata Thana
police arrested one person.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
