ARREST-SATKHIRA
55 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Sept 13, 2018 (BSS) – Law enforcers, in special drives arrested
55 persons including two activists of BNP and an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami
from eight upazilas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this
morning.
Law enforcers also recovered 160 pieces of Yaba tablets during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 15 persons, Kalaroa Thana
police arrested nine persons including two activists of BNP and an activist
of Jamaat-E-Islami and recovered 140 pieces of Yaba tablets in an abandoned
condition, Tala Thana police arrested four persons and recovered 20 pieces of
Yaba tablets in an abandoned condition, Kaliganj Thana police arrested seven
persons, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested six persons, Assasuni Thana police
arrested nine persons, Patkelghata Thana police arrested two persons and
Debhata Thana police arrested three persons.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
