Stocks witness flat on lower transactions
DHAKA, Sept 11, 2018 (BSS) – Stock markets witnessed flat today when
daily transactions declined on lower demand.
The day’s trade value at DSE declined to Taka 714.09 crore from Monday’s
Taka 965.36 crore and the daily trade fell to 16.46 crore shares from 22.42
crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange closed the day with 3.82
points up at 5,543.94. But, the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES closed the
day with 2.63 points down at 1,938.45 and with 0.56 points down at 1,271.60.
At DSE, out of the day’s 335 securities, prices of 131 securities closed
higher against 152 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were National Life Insurance, Takaful Insurance,
Monno Ceramics, Fu Wang Ceramics and Intech. The major losing issues were
IFILISLMF1, PRIME1ICBA, VFSTDL, ICBEPMF1S1 and ICBAGRANI1.
KPCL topped the turnover list followed by Active Fine, BBS Cables, Ifad
Autos and Confidence Cement.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day with downward trend
with its major CASPI 1.79 points down at 17,095.03.
At CSE, a total of 240 issues were traded while 82 closed higher and 128
closed lower when 99.19 lakh shares worth Taka 44.82 crore changed hands.
