Sreepur Mayor sent to jail in graft case
DHAKA, Sept 9, 2018 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent two people including
Mayor of Sreepur Municipality, Gazipur, Anisur Rahman to jail in a graft
cases filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Dhaka divisional special judges’ court passed the order as Rahman
surrendered before it and pleaded bail in four cases and former accountant of
the municipality Abdul Mannan in two cases.
According to the court officials, Rahman was granted bail in one case out
of the four, while Mannan was declined bail in both the cases.
ACC filed the cases against the duo for allegedly misappropriating money of
the municipality between 2010 and 2013.
