Mastermind among 8 arrested over Mehedi murder in capital
DHAKA, Sept 9, 2018 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police on Saturday
arrested eight persons including main accused in the Mehedi murder case from
the capital’s Dakhinkhan and Uttara thana areas.
“We arrested main accused Md Saif and his seven accomplices, Monir, Arafat,
Saiful, Meherab, Apel, Sifat and Sohel, in connection with the Mehdi murder
case from Dakhinkhan and Uttara thana areas,” deputy commissioner (media) of
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told BSS a press conference today.
They also seized the knife used in the killing of Mehedi, he also said.
A gang belongs to Arafat group led by Saif knifed to death Mehdi, 17, a
member of another gang belongs to Shanto group over establishing supremacy in
Uttara area on August 31 last, he also said.
A murder case was lodged with Dakhinkhan Police Station to this end.
