BJMC will be made profitable: Azam

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam said the government has taken various projects to modernize Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) to regain the glory of golden fiber.

BJMC will be a profitable organization after successful completion of these projects, he said while addressing two functions organized by BJMC in Chattogram, an official release said today.

The state minister laid foundation stone of Bailing Hopes Plant and inaugurated Lamination Plant of Amin Jute Mills there.

Mayeen Uddin Khan Badal, MP, Didarul Alam, MP, Advisor of BJMC Nazmuzzaman, among others, were present on the occasion.

Azam said, “We have removed irregularities and corruption from BJMC…”

He said the present government has reopened five jute mills, which were closed by the BNP-Jamaat alliance government.

A Taka 173.89 crore project has been taken for modernization of three jute mills under three BJMC, he added.
