46 rivers register rise, 40 fall

DHAKA, September 2, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 46 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 40 stations recorded fall.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, seven are steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra river is in steady state while the Jamuna river is in rising trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The Ganges-Padma rivers are in rising trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The Major rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in rising trend which may continue in next 24 hours.

A total of 50 mm rainfall was recorded during last 24 hours ending at 6 am today at Moheshkhola and 50 mm at Kanaighat.
