32 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, Sept 1, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 32
persons including 14 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 52 pieces of Pethidine injections, 500 grams of
Ganja, 209 bottles of Phensidyl, 1,500 pieces of sleeping tablets and 299
pieces of Yaba tablets during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested eight persons including
four drug traders with 52 pieces of Pethidine injections, 500 grams of Ganja
and 299 pieces of Yaba tablets, Biral Thana police arrested two persons,
Birampur Thana police arrested two persons, Phulbari Thana police arrested
two persons, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested two persons, Parbatipur Thana
police arrested four drug traders, Khansama Thana police arrested two
persons, Bochaganj Thana police arrested two persons and Ghoraghat Thana
police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained six
drug traders with 1,500 pieces of sleeping tablets and 209 bottles of
Phensidyl around 11pm from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the
district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
