ARREST-SATKHIRA
96 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Aug 31, 2018 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 96
persons including nine activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, three activists of BNP
and an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir from eight upazilas of the district
in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Police also recovered 582 pieces of Yaba tablets and 100 grams of Ganja
during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 22 persons including
three activists of Jamaat-E-Islami and recovered 22 pieces of Yaba tablets
and 100 grams of Ganja in an abandoned condition, Kalaroa Thana police
arrested eight persons and recovered 500 pieces of Yaba tablets in an
abandoned condition, Tala Thana police arrested eight persons, Kaliganj Thana
police arrested 11 persons including an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami,
Shyamnagar Thana police arrested 18 persons, Assasuni Thana police arrested
20 persons including five activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, three activists of
BNP, an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir and recovered 60 pieces of Yaba
tablets, Patkelghata Thana police arrested five persons and Debhata police
arrested four persons.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
