Chinese envoy calls on Mustafa Jabbar
DHAKA, Aug 29, 2018 (BSS) – Chinese ambassador Zhang Zuo today called on
Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar
at the latter’s office in the capital’s Agargaon.
During the meeting, they discussed different issues related to bilateral
relations, including work of 3rd phase of Info-Sarker Project, Data Center
Project and Modernization of Telecommunication Network (MoTN) Project, among
others.
Mustafa Jabbar in the meeting said China is one of the development
partners and time tested friends of Bangladesh. He urged the Chinese envoy
for more investment in Bangladesh’s ICT and telecommunication sectors.
Zhang Zua said his country wants to work closely with Bangladesh in
building Digital Bangladesh.
“Different prominent Chinese companies like Huawei and ZTE are
implementing different projects in ICT and telecommunication sectors,” he
said.
He reiterated further assistance from China in developing and expanding
the ICT sector through taking part in new projects.
Both of them agreed on starting the work of Establishing Digital
Connectivity (EDC) soon.
Second secretary of Chinese Embassy LV Yang, and senior officials of the
concerned ministry were present on the occasion.
