PM gave adequate allocation for N-region’s development: Nuruzzaman

RANGPUR, Aug 29, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman
Ahmed urged northern region’s people to cast vote for Awami League as Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina has given sufficient allocation for development of the
region.

“People of the region should stand beside the present government led by
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and vote for the symbol ‘Boat’ in the next
general elections for continuation of the current pace of development,” he
said.

The state minister was addressing a memorial discussion organised by
Government Karim Uddin Public College on its ground in Kaliganj upazila of
Lalmonirhat district on Tuesday afternoon as the chief guest.

The discussion, followed by a milad mahfil, was arranged to commemorate one
of the Liberation War Organiser in Sector No-6 Alhaj Karim Uddin Ahmed on his
27th death anniversary. He was also founder of the educational institution.

Nuruzzaman, the eldest son of late Karim Uddin Ahmed, said Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina always puts due importance on development of the country’s
backward northern region.

“The present government has taken a plan to construct a Polytechnic
Institute, Sheikh Russel Training Institute, Rehabilitation Centre for
Mothers and Children and a Textile Institute in the locality,” he said.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already given allocation for
construction of 1,000 orphanages all over the country to ensure education,
healthcare and welfare of the orphans for their better future and
mainstreaming in the society,” he said.

Citing massive development works implemented by the present government
during the last ten years, Nuruzzaman called upon the people to vote for the
symbol ‘Boat’ in the next polls for continuation of the development.

With Principal of the college Reshlun Noor Chowdhury in the chair,
Kaliganj upazila Chairman Mahbubuzzaman Ahmed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rabiul
Hasan, Tushbhander union Chairman Noor Islam Ahmed and Headmaster of Kaliganj
Karim Uddin Pilot High School Khurshiduzzaman Ahmed, among others, addressed
the discussion.
