BNP makes mockery by demanding justice over Aug 21: Quader
DHAKA, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said BNP is making the
cruelest mockery of the history by demanding justice over the gruesome
grenade attack of August 21, 2004.
“BNP-Jamaat alliance had perpetrated the August 21 grenade attack. Now
they are demanding justice over the gruesome attack. It is the cruelest
mockery,” he told a discussion marking the National Mourning Day at Mahanagar
Natyamanch at Gulisthan here.
Jubo League organised the discussion while its chairman Omar Faruque
Chowdhury, general secretary Harunur Rashid, central leaders Mahiuddin Mahi,
Anwarul Islam, ABM Amzad Hossain, Ataur Rahman, Mahbubur Rahman Hiron, Kazi
Anisur Rahman, Mijanul Islam Miju, Ismail Chowdhury Samrat and Ismail Hossain
addressed the discussion.
The minister said BNP could do anything. “BNP can want trial of murder
after perpetrating it. They can want trail of corruption after making
corruption,” he added.
The AL general secretary said BNP has lobbied across the world to save
1971 war criminals.
BNP made all-out efforts to make Ziaur Rahman as the proclaimer of
independence, he added.
Quader said BNP wanted to turn the non-political students’ movement for
safe roads into a political one by spreading falsehood and rumors.
“BNP is the party who changed their constitution to allow corrupt persons
to be included in it,” he said, adding that they are now out to hatch
conspiracy over the next general election.
