Body of minor boy recovered in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS) – Police recovered the slit-throat body of a
minor child from Shital-Pacharvita village in Gobindaganj upazila of the
district this morning.
The victim was identified as Lemon Prodhan, 10, son of Lutfar Rahman
Prodhan of the village and student of grade four of Shital Govt. Primary
School of the upazila.
Family sources said Lemon went missing on Monday evening. Finding no trace
of the boy, his guardians made announcements over loudspeakers and filed a
general diary with the police station.
On Tuesday morning, locals found the body of the boy lying in the spot and
informed the police.
Police of Gobindaganj thana rushed to the spot, recovered the body and
sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj thana M. Mujibur Rahman said the body
bore several marks of injury including slit-throat.
Police suspected that criminals might have dumped the body in the area
after killing the boy with sharp weapon.
A case was filed with the concerned thana in this connection.
