2 Jubo League men killed in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS) – Two Jubo League activists were stabbed to
death by unknown miscreants in Choto Daroga Hat area under Sitakundu upazila
of the district on Monday night.

The victims were identified as Ramjan Ali Khokon, 35, and Siraj Ali, 32,
they were siblings and hailed from Mohalokka village of Baroyardhala union
under the upazila. Locals said both of them were activists of the ruling
Awami League’s youth front Jubo League.

Quoting eyewitnesses, ASI (Assistant Sub-inspector) Alaluddin Talukdar of
Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost said the duo were
stabbed to death by a gang of miscreants numbering 20-30 around 8.45 pm while
they were returning home after attending a programme marking the National
Mourning Day at Kutumbobari Community Centre in the area.

The gang stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving the duo critically
injured, the ASI Alaluddin said.

Locals saw the bodies lying beside a road in Bariyardhala union, close to
the venue of a rally arranged by the local unit of Awami League, the ASI
added.

The duo was rescued with critical injuries and sent to Sitakunda Health
complex. Later, they were shifted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital
(CMCH) at 10.15 pm.

The on-duty doctors declared Ramjan dead after admission, the ASI told
BSS.

Siraj succumbed to his injuries around 11.25pm, said CMCH police outpost
In-Charge Jahirul Islam Bhuiyan.

Mohammad Iftekhar Hasan, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Sitakundu thana
confirmed the incident.
