42 rivers register rise, 46 fall

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 42 river stations monitored by
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 46 stations
recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, five are steady, a bulletin
issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in steady state while the Ganges-Padma
rivers are in rising trend which may continue in the next 48 hours.

The Surma-Kushiyara rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in rising trend,
which may become steady in next 24 hours.

A total of 35 mm rainfall was recorded at Manu Rly Bridge and 24 mm at
Kanaighat during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.
