Afghan Taliban shadow district chief, 2 bodyguards killed in bombing
QALAT, Afghanistan, Aug 27, 2018 (BSS/XINHUA) – A Taliban shadow district
chief Mullah Abdul Latif for Shahjoy district of southern Zabul province
along with two of his bodyguards were killed after the government forces
bombardments on the militants’ hideout on Sunday, provincial police chief
Mustafa Mayar said Monday.
Mullah Abdul Latif, according to the official, besides serving as Taliban
shadow district chief was also head of Taliban’s prisoners department in the
restive province and his physical elimination could serve as major blow to
the armed insurgents.
Taliban militants are yet to make comment.
