Blast erupts near protest camp in eastern Afghanistan: officials
JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Aug 25, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – An explosion erupted near
a protest camp outside an election commission office in the eastern Afghan
city of Jalalabad Saturday, officials said, killing at least two in the
latest in a series of attacks across the war-torn country.
“The blast took place at 11 a.m. targeting the sit-in of a disqualified
candidate… it killed two people, and four others were wounded,” Nangarhar
provincial governor spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told AFP.
Provincial health director Najib Kamawal confirmed the two deaths.
