22 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, Aug 25, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 22
persons including nine drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 86 pieces of Pethidine injection, 200 pieces of
Yaba tablets and 122 bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested four persons including
three drug traders with 86 pieces of Pethidine injection, Biral Thana police
arrested two persons, Birganj Thana police arrested three persons, Kaharole
Thana police arrested one person, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested two
persons, Bochaganj Thana police arrested two persons, Nawabganj Thana police
arrested two drug traders, Birampur Thana police arrested two persons and
Ghoraghat Thana police arrested a drug trader with 72 bottles of Phensidyl.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending
with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources
added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
three drug traders with 50 bottles of Phensidyl and 200 pieces of Yaba
tablets around 11pm from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the
district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
