ARREST-DRUGS-PEDDLING (with picture)
13 drug peddlers held in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Aug 20, 2018 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have
arrested thirteen alleged drug peddlers here while two of them were sentenced
to different terms of jail each by a mobile court on charge of taking drugs
and drug trading.
On tips-off, the elite force conducted drives in different areas of
Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts on Sunday and arrested the people for
their alleged involvement in drug trading or taking drugs.
The RAB officials said they also seized 1,035 bottles of Phensidyl, 50
bottles of foreign-made wine, 22 bottles of alcohol, 800 grams of heroin,
52,700 liters of country-made liquor, 10 kilograms of ganja and some other
drugs-taking instruments from their possession.
Later, the arrested were produced before a mobile court.
After examining the evidences, the mobile court sentenced two of them to
jail.
Regular cases were filed against eleven other detainees.
Saiful Islam, assistant superintendent of police working with RAB, said
different courts sent more than 100 drug addicts to jail during the last four
days.
