2,936 spots fixed for slaughtering sacrificial animals: Minister

DHAKA, August 19, 2018 (BSS) – Local Government, Rural Development and
Cooperatives and Cooperatives Minister Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain said the
authorities have earmarked a total of 1,936 spots for slaughtering
sacrificial animals in 11 city corporations during Eid-ul-Azha for ensuring
better waste management.

“I urge the people to slaughter their sacrificial animals on the
designated spots fixed by city corporations to supplement the efforts for
proper waste management,” he told a meeting titled “Slaughtering Sacrificial
Animals and Better Waste Management” recently held in the conference room of
the Local Government Division (LGD) here.

He said city corporation employees have to ensure that people would
slaughter animals on the fixed spots, said a press release.

Mosharraf also requested people to remove wastages on their own after
slaying animals.

Among the designated 2,936 spots in 11 City Corporations, 620 in Dhaka
South City Corporation (DSCC), 543 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC),
210 in Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), 314 in Chattogram City Corporation
(CCC), 163 in Khulna City Corporation (KCC), 135 in Barisal City Corporation
(BCC), 36 in Sylhet City Corporation (SCC), 183 in Narayanganj City
Corporation (NCC), 117 in Rangpur City Corporation (RCC), 190 in Cumilla City
Corporation (CCC) and 443 in Gazipur City Corporation (GCC).

He also directed city corporations and municipal authorities to remove
wastages as soon as possible.
