Taliban ambush kills 5 police in N. Afghanistan
PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, Aug 18, 2018 (BSS/XINHUA) – At least five local
police personnel have been killed and two others injured after Taliban
militants attacked a police convoy in Baghlan province, northern Afghanistan,
on Friday, spokesman for the provincial government Mahmood Haqmal said
Saturday.
Taliban militants, according to the official, ambushed the convoy in the
outskirts of provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri on Friday afternoon.
The injured policemen have been taken to a local hospital and they are in
stable condition, the official added.
